Why don't you read Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus? Think there's a whole load of stuff in there about the different language men and women use and what they actually hear as a result.
Or something about why is it more socially acceptable for men to swear than it is for women?
Good luck with the presentation!

You probably need to be a little more specific... But here goes...
Gender: you could go the whole voting/equality thing.
Language: People that speak >1 language and why English is such a popular language.

well you have a week so use each day wisely.
First, find out exactly what is expected for your presentation. What does your instructor want, what DONT they want.
reserve at least two days to use for practice.I've done public speaking before and you REALLY need to practice! That means you should have 4 days to get to work. DOnt wast time.
Talk to your instructor/teacher on how to do this. Go to your local library and ask about research methods. COnsult your text book.
remember to site your sources as soon as you get them! It really sux to do that stuff last minute.
plan, dont panic!!
=D

Do some research and brainstorming. Mold the topic to revolve around something important to you like you could make it involve poverty or culture such as hip hop or age or anything. Brainstorm. Literally give yourself uniterrupted time to just think. Something will come to you if you give it time. Go online and type in your topic or words involving it into a search engine and just see what you come up with. Your topic is vague so maybe you can make it something more condensed.

Lay out your outline and understand your audience. Are you talking to broads? Are you talking to studs?
Three sections of the talk:
1) Tell them what you are going to tell them
2) Tell Them
3) Tell them what you told them
If you want real help, use the Powerpoint wizard to develop a presentation...Carnegie method, sales, etc.

Well, gender as in male and female. Just compare the differences between the two. The language, just compare the differences between alphabits, symbolics , ya know........etc...........
