My doctor prescribed the ultrasound between weeks 18 and 20. I went at 18 1/2 weeks and they could tell without question it was a boy.

The genitals of the fetus are developed some time before 13 weeks gestation, however they are too small to determination of the sex of the baby, if you are depending on ultrasound. if that is the case, most likely you will not find out until the 20th week. But if for some reason you need to have an amniocentesis, the doctors can use this fluid to determine the sex of the baby which would be 100% correct.

You can determine the gender of your baby as early as 5 months or 20 weeks. I had mine checked when I was on my 5th month unfortunately we didn't find out the gender because the legs of the baby were crossed so it was impossible to see. I was only allowed to take my next ultrasound 3 months after. =)

About 20 weeks into the pregnancy they should be able to tell you the gender of your baby.

If you have an invasive test like an amnio or a CVS, you can find out around week 16. Otherwise, the level 2/anatomic ultrasound is normally done around 20 weeks. The baby may or may not cooperate though.

you usually find you the gender of your baby when you are 20 weeks pregnant, but always remember the ultrasounds are not 100% right

I was told the sex of my baby at 14 weeks 1 day. He was fully cooperating at the time. The lab tech did tell me she couldn't say for certain though. At 18 weeks 1 day, the lab tech was certain it was a male. I've heard it's usually around 20 weeks that they can tell.

For some people they can tell by the heartbeart but it is best to trust the 20 week ultrasound but it isn't always right so sometimes you have to wait until you have the baby to know for SURE!
