  • Length of period after a miscarriage?

I miscarried on May 11th (Mother's Day, that stunk). I was 12 weeks along. I bled for a few weeks off an on (no D&C) and my hormone levels were back to zero 5 weeks ago. Not long after, my period started. That was 4 1/2 weeks ago. I'm still spotting lightly every once in awhile. Is that normal? I'm ready for the dumb thing to be finished!

  • How can I get my 3 1/2 year old to stop sucking his thumb?

Here's what we've tried, all to no avail:

    Vinegar

The bad tasting stuff you paint on the thumb and nail

Constant reminders to take his thumb out

Gradually weaning, like saying he can only suck his thumb at home, but everywhere else isn't allowed.

I'm going crazy, NOTHING is working! Help please!!

  • How normal is it for a 3 1/2 year old to be violent with his younger brother?

I went into a back bedroom to put some things away when I heard my 9 month old start screaming. I hurried into the bedroom my two sons share to see the 3 1/2 year old dangling the 9 month old from the bed with his bedsheet wrapped around the 9 month old's neck. Needless to say, I just about had a heart attack. I removed the 9 month old and made the 3 1/2 year old stay in his room until I could calm myself down (I was LIVID). Anyway, I calmed myself down so I could have as rational a conversation as possible with the older son and try to get through to him. He told me was was mad at the younger son and we discussed appropriate ways to handle his anger. BUT, this is not the first time this has happened. He is CONSTANTLY harassing the younger one, and frequently purposely hurting him.

Is it normal for him to be so violent? And what in the WORLD do I do about it?

  • What can I do with cream of celery soup?

I had some in my cupboard (who knows why...it must have been on sale so I bought some, although I've never in my life used it), and accidentally opened it today thinking it was cream of chicken soup. So now that it's open (I covered it and put it in the fridge for now), what can I make with it?

  • I went to an Eclipse book signing last night and couldn't ask this question...?

Hypothetical questions weren't allowed because we can't talk about anything that "might" happen in the last book. So here's my question and I want to know what everyone thinks...

What would happen to a vampire who refused to hunt? If a vampire went long enough without drinking any blood, what would happen?

Obviously with humans, without food and water, eventually we'd die. Do you think that's true for a vampire as well?

  • Okay everyone, tell me what you think about this Edward Cullen casting?

What about Zac Efron? Now before you poo-poo it, have a look at this cover of Rolling Stones magazine. He's 20, so if they hurry up and make a movie, he wouldn't be too old per Stephenie's requirements.

I like him better for the role than anyone else I've heard suggested.

  • Manicure/pedicure ettiquette?

I've only had two pedicures in my life, and each time I've felt completely out of place. If you're a pro and this, can you give me some pointers? I bring cash to tip everyone, but if you've just had your fingernails done, how in the world do you not mess them up? And how do you leave the salon with shoes on (Even sandals) without goofing up your toes? I'm at a total loss ladies, help me out. Give me your best tips and pointers....everything a rookie needs to know.

    Thanks!!

  • Help! My son peed down a heater vent and I don't know how to clean it to get rid of the urine smell!?

My son is potty-trained, but had an accident today, right over the heater vent. We have an old, small house and the heating system consists of one massive (3 feet by 2 feet) heating vent in the hallway. Usually in the summer months we cover it with a carpet, but it wasn't down today so when my son peed, it went straight down the vent. There's a huge heating system down there that we can't pull out to clean under, and the space around it is so small we can't reach our arms through. But our house REEKS of urine right now...actually, kind of like burnt urine, which is really bad. The pilot light is still lit because it's been pretty cold here recently, so the heater is always a little warm, even when not in use.

How can I get rid of this smell? My husband sprayed febreeze down there, but it hasn't helped. Any ideas????

  • Anyone notice this in Lost last night?

In the flash-forward, the chief of surgery asks Jack if he's drunk. Jack turns around and says, "Why don't you call my dad down here and if I'm more drunk than he is, you can fire me."

If it's a flash forward, then Jack's dad should be dead!

There was also the prescription he tried to turn in claiming the physician signature was his dad's....although he could have just been trying to bluff his way out of that one and that's why when the pharmacist was about to call his dad, he gave up and left.

  • Last week's Gilmore Girls episode?

I live in Southern California, and last Tuesday night there was a really big fire in Griffeth Park. I have a DVR and wasn't watching Gilmore Girls at the time, but I went to watch it a few days later and realized that 11 minutes into the show (right where Luke goes to his sister's to buy jewelry for Rory and Lorelai) a breaking news report came on about the fire, and stayed on through the whole hour long episode. I missed it all! Is there anywhere I can go to see the episode? Or a website with a detailed synopsis? All I know is that Logan proposed and Rory said no.

The next best thing would be someone telling me what happened. Why did Rory say no? Did it end bad? Are they over for good? And WHY?? I really liked Logan. What else happened that episode?

And lastly, was last night's episode the series finale? I'm so sad. What a crummy way to end it.

  • Help!!! Fan's of 24 and Lost, I can't make this connection!?

Okay, I am just in love with Henry Ian Cusick who plays Desmond on Lost. So I did a search for him on IMDb and it said he was in season 5 of lost during the hours of 7-8pm and 8-9pm playing a guy named Theo. I love both shows and I know I saw those episodes of 24 that he was in, but I cannot for the life of me place him. I just don't remember a guy named Theo. These hours were the ones where CTU goes into lockdown because of the nerve gas going off inside (I think Edgar dies in one of these episodes).

Anyway, if you could just tell me who this Theo guy was in those two lost episodes, I'd be so grateful!!!

  • What in the world is a "top contributor"?

I see a bunch of people with this sign in their profile and at first I thought it must mean a person with a lot of points. But I've seen people still in level 2 or 3 that are top contributors. I'm so confused!
