My girl was 9.7lb, a bit over 22inches. Natural child birth - I was regretting towards the end not getting drugs! I certainly feel for any of us who have delivered big babies. Everyone around me was having 6lb babies!!

My mom was 10 pounds when she was born and at that time medicine was not really advanced and into pain relief and stuff like that so my grandmother had a very difficult birth and was partially paralized for a while. On top of that, they were living in a village and they had just opened the new maternity ward which was just a plain house and she was the only one giving birth that day. Well, after she had my mom, the midwife left for the night and left my grandma with the baby, paralyzed and completely alone. They had a stove with wood that went off in the middle of the night and my grandma had to stay in the freezing cold night (it was January 9th) with her newborn baby and unable to move until midwife came back in the morning. I should say we are lucky to not live in times like that!!

No, I had a big baby too, everything was normal, I'm not diabetic. Except he was shorter than your friend's baby. Mine was 9.5 pounds and 21 and a half inches. Birth was natural and the epidural was not very effective. I did have to push for two hours to get the baby out.

My sturdy buddy had her infant at 27 weeks 6 days. She became a million pound 10 oz. She became interior the NICU for rather much 4 months. She is a satisfied healthful 14 month previous now. With the technologies and the certainty all of us be attentive to right this moment there's a sturdy possibility of the child surviving. it is going to be a protracted journey however the percentages are sturdy. lots has to do with how lots the child weighs.

No I don't but tell her congratulations!

Size doesnt' really mean anything, just because the baby is big doesn't necessarily mean the labor was painful. Some women birth large babies and have a wonderful birth. Also some birth small babies and have a hard time at it. So size isn't an indicator of how bad the birth was. I wish people would get this misconception out of their head!

My sister pushed a 10 lb 10 oz baby out. She broke every blood vessel in her face doing it. I had a 10 lb 0 oz baby but I had her c-section. I didn't want to risk having something happen to my baby.

When my mum had me I was 10, 10 and a half. It sounded very painful, they had to cut me out of her ... I hope that my baby is not that big. I hope she recovers from it and if she has any children in the future that they aren't as big. My mum was only able to have me due to that and other problems.
