Anyone notice this in Lost last night?
In the flash-forward, the chief of surgery asks Jack if he's drunk. Jack turns around and says, "Why don't you call my dad down here and if I'm more drunk than he is, you can fire me."
If it's a flash forward, then Jack's dad should be dead!
There was also the prescription he tried to turn in claiming the physician signature was his dad's....although he could have just been trying to bluff his way out of that one and that's why when the pharmacist was about to call his dad, he gave up and left.
I don't believe Jack's dad is still alive. I don't think that just because he saw his dad on the island and an empty casket means he isn't dead. Most people on that island have seen visions or images of some sort. Jack saw his dad, Ben saw his mom (when he was little), Kate saw her old horse, Sayid and Shannon and Locke have all seen Walt, Hurley saw his imaginary friend person from the mental institution (of course he was in his mind from the beginning) and I know there have been others. I think there's something about the island that makes you see apparitions of some sort.

I just posted the same question LOL! Yes!! I caught the same thing!! The pharmacist could have made sense if he forged his dad's name though--but the pharmacist should have known that his dad was dead being a pharmacist? I don't know it's making my head hurt...I'll have to watch it again tonight on the DVR....

First of all i think the whole thing is Jack thinking ahead in the future because every time they have a flash forward it cuts back to Jack at the island like that's what hes thinking about...kinda like a flash back....so i think in the long run hes gonna see how every things gonna be after they get rescued and hes not gonna wanna be rescued at all....??
Second...Jacks dad is dead....he was high on pills and was using his dads alcohol abuse as an excuse for his own behavior...and the prescriptions he couldve forged to try to get more pills because he knew he couldn't write one for himself....that's why he told the lady not to bother calling.
By the way Jack's father had an affair with Claire's mom....they are half brother and sister.

I caught that too. It's strange because Jack had to identify his dad's body at the morgue in Australia, so he must be dead. But then he saw his dad on the island. I thought it was just a hallucination, but now I'm wondering. Also, when Jack's ex-wife came to the hospital after he saved that woman & child on the bridge, she was pregnant. I wonder who the father is? Didn't she and Jack's dad have an affair?

Yeah I caught that too, the other thing is if it was a flash forward why was Jacks beard dark black when he is turning gray on the island? I guess he could have died it but I don't know.
But he was bluffing at the pharm. he just wanted to get more pills and was trying everything he could think of.
If it is a flash forward maybe he should have stayed on the island b/c it looks like he has a bad life now...

Wow, Now that you mention it I do recall him saying that. Jacks dad did have contact with more survivors than anyone. It makes sense because he wasn't in the casket Jack found on the island. No sign of a body except the "apparition" Jack almost followed over a cliff.
In love with...........Lost.
ps. forget you lost haters!!!!

Good catch.
With Lost it could have been a flash back in the middle of flash forward or the flashes were all mix up.
There is no straight plot with Lost it keeps everyone guessing.

I still think Christian Shepard is dead. Jack only mentioned him when he was drunk and high on Oxycodone, a painkiller that is seriously addicting.

it might not be flash-forward.... who knows? this is a question we are trying to figure.... it might be that dad's still alive before he crashed into the island or not... maybe jack just wanted to be crash somewhere cuz it broke his heart. my guess is that might reveals us that ben is warns Jack to not leaving the island.. .but he does. I THINK that desmond will save the future!

He is dead.
Notice the 'wtf' look on the doctors face as Jack mentions his father. and the reaction Jack had when the pharmacist wanted to verify the prescription.
