Have you ever been embarrassed by your religious beliefs?

I worship fat bottom girls, so no, I'm cool with that.

My entire family says grace over every meal, wherever we are, be it home, McDonald's, or a fine restaurant. More than once our waiter or waitress has stood respectfully with head bowed and said Amen with us.

I wear it joyfully, not proudly. But I am not ashamed to show my faith, while at the same time, I try not to force it on others. For example, we pray quietly in restaurants, but it is obvious that we are praying, by our bowed heads and folded hands. We don't hand out tracts or any of that stuff, but if people ask about our faith, we are happy to share what we believe.

Likewise, if somebody is discussing something with us that is against our personal family morals or beliefs, we are not afraid to say: "We are Catholic, and this isn't something we feel really comfortable hearing about.. can we change the subject to something we can BOTH enjoy discussing?"

I am only embarrassed, not by my faith, but my lack of knowledge of it. When asked to explain or defend any aspect of it, I do not have an answer, as I too always wondered some of these things myself. I am more ashamed than embarrassed that I haven't yet learned the reasons behind the customs.

I would never be embarrassed over my love for My Lord and Savior. I pray over my food in restaurants and have defended my faith.

Before I truly surrendered my life to Christ I was living by worldly ways. I am now a new creature in Christ, never ashamed, never embarrassed..I will tell the world, shout it from the roof tops. Yes thank God I now wear my faith proudly!

No, i'm not. i'm embarrassed by my failure to stay as a lot as my beliefs. some cases i'm the purely Christian others ought to guage by and that i fall short of God's expectancies. i encounter myself putting forward mean issues, holding others waiting because of my procrastination, having undesirable recommendations about others, failing to save delivers. i might want to flow on, yet i imagine you get the image. i might want to by no potential be embarrassed to face up and count number as a Christian.

I get a lot of looks when I go to a restaurant and ask a blessing before eating, but I do not get embarrassed by them.

yes.... reluctantly I admit it..... But, that was because I was trying to fit in with the "in-crowd" and they didn't do that stuff.....

The older I had gotten.... i realized that it was more important to me to stand for my faith even in the face of those whom I wanted to be like unto...... I would rather fall for my faith than stand for those who will never stand with me in mine......

It never bothered me again... I do that always... I pray openly.. no matter who's looking at me... this time... My hope is that it inspires faith in them.....

Proud pagan here. If folks want to talk ignorance about paganism that's fine. Now if they ask me my opinion or whether I agree with them I take a page out of my wife's book and say "Do you want the truth or a comforting lie?"

It's not easy to embarrass someone when they believe wholeheartedly in something, but I've seen people heartbroken for being slammed for their relligious beliefs.
