How can you remove permanent black marker from a white painted wall?
My niece decided to "color" on the walls of my sister's house. The house is rented and she wants to avoid re-painting the walls unless it is extremely necessary. The walls are white and the marker is looking to be very permanent. We've tried clorox scrub with bleach, standard Lisol, and just hard scrubbing with soap. Nothing seems to work without peeling the paint.

THE EASIEST WAY IS NOT TO REMOVE , BUT TO COVER WITH " KILLZ " ITS MADE JUST FOR THAT...THEN PAINT OVER THE SPOT WITH SAME COLOR PAINT...AND VOILA ! YOU'VE GOT A WHOLE NEW WALL AGAIN....GOOD LUCK , AND TAKE CARE.....GR1M

I also vote to try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.... however this product does seem to work by taking some of the paint off the walls with the stain. So take care not to scrub too much and uncover a large area of duller colored primer underneath or anything...

Regular paint will NOT cover it, use primer to “paint” the walls.. use “KILZ Original “primer in white… its about $30… there are SO many whites – it will probably not match… look around in the basement they maybe left over paint – in which case paint over the primer… if not primer the whole wall/s…
if it was freshly painted when she moved in they probably always paint repaint to for the next tenant.. so they will not even notice/or care when you move out… good luck

You may want to try a nifty little product called Goo-Gone. I have used it for the same purpose, works to get stickers and stuff off walls/fridges or whatever. You should be able to pick it up at any local hardware store or Wal*Mart
