Hotel Amenities that you cant live without!!!!?
This is a survey for my job. I'm in the hospitality business and need to know what things you have to have when staying at a hotel? What features do you look for when making a reservation? What items do you prefer to have in your guest room? What would make you want to stay with a brand of hotel again? What would make you not want to stay? There isnt anything too big or too small that you can add to our list. We are trying to do improvements based off of guest suggestions. All responses are apprechated.

Doors that don't slam! Signs on the door that say's please don't slam the door! Asking the customer not to slam the door! It's awful everywhere I stay.. On a side note, call girls on the payroll!

Ultimately, it's all about the room. The rest is nice little bells & whistles.
The room (and bathroom!) must be spotlessly clean (including that carpet!). The bedclothes must look like they have never been used before.
And, as a non-smoker, if I order a no-smoking room, you better give me one or I will never stay there again. Once a room has been smoked in, the stink stays in the caret and drapes and is very difficult to remove to the point that a non-smoker cannot notice it.
If I want to stay in a place smelling like an ashtray, I'll certainly tell you!

I stayed at a resort hotel in Arizona last year and I still DREAM about the feather bed. It's was just sooooo luxurious, I felt engulfed when was in bed. It was absolutely wonderful.
I also like having a hair dryer. Heated towel racks are a nice amenity, too, but I'll settle for just having an adequate supply of clean towels.
Oh, and can't stress enough how important housekeeping is!

Air conditioning and a swimming pool are two of the things I can't live without along with a television set.

internet reservations but if needed a helpful reservationist available to talk to. good quality pictures in a website and clear cancellation policies are a must.
Must haves: helpful, respectful service, clean rooms, TV with cable, alarm clock/radio preferably with a DVD, wireless access, soft towels, nice toiletries, hair drier, soft toilet paper, comfortable bed and pillows, warm comforter, iron and ironing board, heavy drapes to control light, thick walls/ceilings and floors to control sound.
indifferent service, dirty rooms, excess noise have caused me to choose not to stay in certain hotels.

I prefer a coffee maker, blow dryer.....
extra crisp sheets....
and I prefer a sitting area to view the television.....I don't enjoy using my bed to watch TV.....I once stayed in a hotel in Canada (Windsor)....it was set up like a small apt.....I think about it all the time.....I will be returning...
