Yes flat ale, as a conditioner but I did not get the actual details, but her hubby uses ale as a conditioner for his ample gut like drinks plenty.....LOL

Yes you can use beer! When I was a kid I had to have a lot of surgeries where I couldn't wash my hair for a week at a time and after each my mom would condition my hair with a flat beer and it really brought back the shine and bounce!

back in the 80's this was a big fad. they actually sold shampoo and conditioner with beer in it.

I remember many years ago that it was "chic" to rinse your hair with beer, and in fact it was said that Elizabeth Taylor rinsed with champagne...some kind of "fad" I guess.
