What is the nickname for the Electric Chair at Louisiana State Penitentiary?
Nice try, haikuhi2002, but the first answer you put up was Old Sparky. Then you copied kalindraeighty's answer.
No it's not Old Sparky. That is the nickname of an electric chair in Florida.

So, seeing that I was wrong, I researched this topic a little further. I found that there was a portable electric chair in Louisiana named Gruesome Gertie. The name also was applied to the chair in the state prison by inmates, maybe it was the same chair, just made stationary. However, the museum at Angola states the name of the electric chair there was Old Sparky, as do other references. People seem to be split on the issue. Were there two chairs or did the chair have two nicknames?
"'Old Sparky', the electric chair at Angola is not used anymore."
"There is also a museum which features among its exhibits Louisiana's old electric chair, "Gruesome Gertie", last used for the execution of Andrew Lee Jones on 22 July 1991."
"Old Sparky is the nickname of the electric chairs of Texas, New York, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida. It was also the nickname of the long-retired electric chair at the now-closed West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, West Virginia; the electric chair is still at the prison, which is now a tourist attraction.[1] It is sometimes used to refer to electric chairs in general, and not one of a specific state."
