Why does my head right behind my ears hurt after I exercise?
Today I did a really hard workout on the elliptical machine and I felt great after I was done, except the area on my head right behind my ears hurt really bad! Why?
No, I don't wear glasses. Just contacts.

The auricular nerve goes up from the upper neck to the back of the ears... if your exercise is strenuous, you may find it triggers a bit of excessive muscle tightening in that area.. allowing a bit of pressure on the nerve. If it continues for any period you may want to have it checked out... see if there is any differential in the tenderness at the base of the skull, on either side, when pressing there.
