Why is there so much variance in charts that calculate fiber content in foods ?

    It probably depends on whether you're looking at a chart intended for the United States or other countries.

    In the United States carbs are listed for carbs including fiber, then fiber is listed separately.

    In non-US countries carbs are listed with the fiber presubtracted. This is confusing and aggrevating for people following a low carb diet.
