Why should Rutgers play in the championship game against Ohio State (or Michigan)?

i mean if they are the only other D1. team undeafeated...why not?

You can't go and tell them they cant play b/c that means that not only rutgers but anyother small D1 school will never be able to get a deacent football team or player...who want to play for a team who will never make it to a national championship?

Thoughts?

If they win out then they should. They are in a BCS confrence(Big East) and get a BCS game automatically if they win out as they would be the Champions. Now you could say that Boise State doesn't really deserve it as they aren't in a BCS Confrence, which implies they aren't in tough division and besides they have no chance because the BCS will never allow a non-BCS team in the title game.

Yeah right Rutgers doesn't stand a chance. That's what you THINK. That is what PAPER says. That is WHY WE PLAY THE GAME. On paper Arizona wouldn't have nearly beat Chicago, let alone dominated them in the first half. On paper we wouldn't have had Green screaming The Bears are who we thought they were. On paper the Dolphins proably would have lost that game instead of basically dominating. That's why the game is PLAYED. It happens at the College level as well.

If Rutgers does go undefeated for the rest of the season, they should play for the Championship game.

who want to play for a team who will never make it to a national championship? To answer this question, some players maybe not good enough to make an Ohio State, Miami (FL), etc. That is tough for a player. Look at Ben Rothlesburger, he played of Miami (Ohio) and has won a Super Bowl. They were not a National Championship threat.

While Rutgers has been a huge surprise, their schedule is weak. I know they beat Louisville, but Notre Dame and USC play top 25 teams all year and one of them will end up with only one loss.

I honestly believe that W. Virginia will beat Rutgers, making it all academic. If Rutgers beats WVA, I can certainly understand the argument for them being in the championship game.

However, who wants to watch Ohio State play Rutgers? The line would be like 24 points and you know the BCS does not want to even consider that disaster because they want ratings.

I dont know much about the Rutgers program, but if they are keeping most of their starters, they will probably start next season ranked. If they go undefeated next year, then they would have more of a chance to go to a BCS or title game (like Louisville and WVA this year).

They shouldn't make the national championship because

    1. They don't have the speed, strength or size of the Michigans, Ohio States, Floridas, and Arkansas.

    2. They have heart on their team, which is why they are undefeated, but they are not undefeated against good teams, Louisville is playing the same schedule as them and aren't as good of a team either.

    3. for that other guy, BYU was a good school a few years back, Air Force almost won it in 1985 for goodness sake, if it weren't for a loss to BYU, so don't think that BYU was the team it is today

Because if Ohio State gets ahold of Rutgers it will be the ugliest most brutal display of abuse Rutgers fans have seen in years. This team cannot play with Michigan or OSU. They barely beat Louisville. You don't trail like that against OSU and come back and win--you just see the score keep rising. WVA,Louisville,Rutgers---these teams play NOBODY. And if Arkansas wants a piece of the Scarlett and Grey...sweet dreams it's lights out for the Razorbacks

a few years ago Brigham Young was undefeated and thy won the national championship The press said that thy deserve it why not Rutger

They shouldn't. They won't be an issue by the end anyhows, they will find a way to lose a game. ND will beat USC Florida will lose to Arkansas in the SEC title game and OSU is gonna spank UM setting up OSU and Arkansas for the national title, mark my words.
