  • Cleveland starting pitchers currently have a 42 1/3 inning scoreless streak going...?

What is the longest Major League scoreless streak(for a teams starting staff) for not allowing a run?

  • Is The Cleveland Indians Rotation The Best In Baseball?

I think if the bat come alive nobody in baseball can stop them. They already have 6 shutouts this year and in 5 other games games they have only aloowed one earned run.

Sabathia started out the year horrible-but has only allowed 6 Earned Runs in his last 4 starts, 3 of those were to one team. This is how the rotation looks thus far (Notice I have 6 pitchers since Wetsbrook went after 4 starts -22 year old Aaron Laffey has been filling in the rotation for him maginficently):

    Cliff Lee: 0.68 ERA

    Aaron Laffey: 1.83 ERA

    Fausto Carmona: 2.40 ERA

    Jake Westbrook: 2.73 ERA

    Paul Byrd: 3.61 ERA

    CC Sabathia: 6.55 ERA

(Jeremy Sowers was called up for one game vs the Yankees going 1-0 , 0.00 ERA)

The Indians now have the second best ERA in MLB at 3.40, only trailing Oakland (3.32 ERA). The Tribe pitching staff has given up 3 runs in the last 5 games.

When, not if, these guys get the bats going (Slowly looks like it is starting to happen)-can anyone in MLB match this pitching

  • A relationship in the military...IMPOSSIBLE?

It seems like you can't make one happen. I am in the Army, divorced with tow kids-I can't seem to find anyone halfway decent! Most seem like groupies or uniform chasers. Nothing wrong with wanting a guy in the military, I respect that. But all the women I have encountered talk about "All the military men" they have dated before. I mean if you have had that many...it just seems impossible to find out who is legit and having someone understand the way you have to live your life while enlisted...I'm 32 years old-no time for the games anymore. Best thoughts on this get the points...I'm totally frustrated.

  • Question for women-Why is it that if I show interest in my ex...?

She basically craps all over me and says we are done! Stop calling me -don't text me...

THEN when I do this-she calls me and starts texting me -or she sees me and tries kissing me and telling me how much she misses me?

Other guys say-women can't stand being ignored. Is this really it? Or am I showing weakness by calling her and telling her how much I miss her because she acts like she doesn't care when I say these things.

***A little brief background-we were together 11 years-she filed for divorce on me in March when I was stationed in Iraq-I'm back home-2 kids in our marriage-ages 2 and 8. She also tell me "I don't look forward to our divorce date-I hate thinking about it". But then when I call her- "WE are finished!!" It's like ignoring her makes her open up to me-but when I "chase her" by calling her and stuff-she is completely ice cold.

    ADVICE?????

  • If Wizard "fans" consider Lebron overrated...?

With the numbers he puts up if he is overrated, then do Washington "fans" have low opinions of their own players since none of them could hold Lebron's jock if they used all 10 hands combined?

Seems kind of stupid calling a guy who has had a season that statistically only Oscar Robertson (5 seasons) and Michael Jordan (one season) have had in their careers.

  • For those who enlisted in the Army (Past and present) did you or do you regret your decision ?

If you are still active, has it been worth it? Would you do it over again?

If you have been out for a while-do you regret coming out or did you make the right choice for you?

What are some of your best and worst experiences about "the life"?

    Thanks!

  • Is Anybody Better then Cliff Lee RIGHT NOW-how sick are his numbers?

    31.2 Innings Pitched

    11 Hits

    29 Strikeouts

    2 Walks allowed

    1 Earned run

    4-0 Record

    0.28 ERA

I cannot remember the last time a pitcher in recent memory has got off to a start like this. At one point tonight he had 71 strikes and 18 Balls...this is ridiculous. Of course he won't keep this up all year. Nobody could-but he is pin-point accurate right now. Nobody can beat him right now. It's not like he's a mediocre fluke pitcher having a great start either. Lets remember this young lefty has won 18 games and usually is good for 15 wins a year. Has finished a few years with ERA's in the 3's...which is damn good for the American League.

His last two starts he has 17 IP 5 Hits 0 Runs 17 strikeouts.

As I said earlier, this pace is impossible to maintain, but what kind of numbers do you see him finishing with this year if he stays healthy?

  • ARMY MOS 68J-Medical Supply Specialist-any info or experience?

I'm trying to learn about as many different jobs as possible.

I have already checke dout the basic descriptions on GoArmy.com, but they are always vageu and sugarcoated. I want real detail. Would this position primarily be warehouse or do you actually work inside hospital and medical facilities as well? Any and all info appreciated. Thanks! Just trying to make the best choice here.

  • Army MOS-Foodservice Specialist-Any positives in this job?

Okay can I get some facts here, not opinions. Everyone I have spoke to said this is a dead end position in the Army. They ask, "Why would you want that?" Truth is I've been in culinary since 11th grade in High School and it's what I do now. I have been back and forth trying to decided on a MOS that I could be happy with. I hear that in the Army under that job-you don't even get to cok-you do grunt work-no advancement opportunities-basically, all the negative.

Are there any positives at all or is it really looked upon that negatively?

  • Army MOS 68Q-Pharmacy Specialist Questions?

I recently go my waiver approved to enlist in the Army. I have some college here at home that I am enrolled in for the summer and fall semesters-so I won't be able to leave until after December 14 of this year.

I have decided not to go to MEPS yet because I am heavily weighing which route to go as far as my MOS, it's a big decision that alot of people I spoke to said they didn't take as serious as they should have when choosing and chased the MOS with the best signing bonus (I will not do this). I am currently in the culinary field-I decided to stay away from that because I have heard some negative things about cooking in the Army. I am now leaning towards Pharmacy Specilist and getting into the medical field. I know AIT is at Fort Sam Houston Texas (gotta love that). Has anyone any prior or current experience in this field that could give me a better understanding on this MOS then they offer at GoArmy.com. They are kinda vague there. Thanks!

Thanks for those who answered my ? a few minutes ago about my soon to be ex-wife trying to confuse me.

Issue #2 is that a friend of mine who is female (Why lie to strangers-really people-only a friend) found me on my Myspace site. My ex-saw her name and freaked out and is telling everyoe my site is a easy way for me to get ***-that I adverstise it on there. I SO DON'T. I think my site is kinda lame really. I mean it doesn't advertise free dick here...

I don't get it. Why divorce someone but still get jealous as hell when they talk to other females?

Shouldn't this be thought of BEFORE you file? or do soemtimes people file and pay the $$ and think it is too late?

  • Toyota New Car Warranty Question-This Doesn't Seem Right?

Okay Toyota is arguing with me over my warranty. I did not buy the Road Side Assistance with my warranty last year when I cought my car.

This is a 2007 Corolla Sport-the transmission is completely gone. They refuse to tow unless it is at my expense since I did't my the road side. They say they only tow CERTIFIED USED VEHICLES for free. I feel that my car that I bought from them that has 12,000 mile son it that I paid damn good money for and is still under warranty should be towed by the, Do I have a leg to stand on here? It just doesn't seem right.

  • Toyota Corolla Transmission Issues-car won't drive for more than 50 feet at a time in any gear. 2007 Corolla S

07 Toyota Corolla Transmission Issue-car won't move in any gear for more than 50 feet at a time. HELP!!!?

    It's under warranty of course.

The car just stopped running. It starts of course but when I shift into any gear-nothing-zero movement. I left the car aprked and went back 3 hours later. The car moved about 100 feet-stopped again-no gears worked.

The next day I go back and the car moves about 25 feet in drive then stops-engine just revs.

My thoughts are if the transmission was completely out it wouldn't drive at all. I'm confused here.

It's under warranty but I don't have towing. If it is fixable myself I'd rather go that route then pay the $100 for towing.

    Any advice?

  • I want to serve in the Army and continue my culinary education?

I have a kid from my hometown who is rated the number one cook in the military. He has made it far, cooking for kings of other ocuntries and our President.

My loyalties are country #1 and my culinary career #2. I saw on the site that the Army competes every year in the Culinary Olympics and The Culinary World Cup and have a culinary team.

Some people in this forum have told me that if you are a cook in the Army it won't carry anymore weight than working at McDonalds and it is dead end. No future.

can someone with some actual first hand knowledge share in detail what they know about MOS Food Service Specialist. I was also consdiering Hospital Food Service Specialist. They say you get more into nutrition and diet more so than just Food Service Spec. I see they are in heavy deman for these slots in the Army (thus I'm sure the large bonus they offer-which plays no role in my choice-although it is a perk). Any advice?

  • Fausto Carmona signs contract extension with Cleveland-sending a sign to C.C. Sabathia?

I have been saying it since last year and the numbers do not lie. Carmona is a better pitcher than Sabathia.

Seems pretty clear to be that the Indians vested money into a young stud pitcher like Carmona when they could have used that money towards signing Sabathia at years end.

Sure C.C. won the Cy Young-but compare his numbers with Carmona. Carmona is the better arm.

If I had a must win game on the line and had to pick who toes the rubber between the two-Fausto gets the nod.

He has picked up where he left off last year too. 2 starts an era of I believe 0.68 1-0. And he logs alot of innings.

No knock on C.C., he is completely solid. But when I see Carmona I see Pedro Martinez in 1998-2004.

I think the Indians brass does too.

They may still sign C.C., the Indians have been coming up with some money the last few years and throwing out some nice contracts to seal guys down long term.

But I think they vested in their future today, not playing the chance card. Your thoughts??

  • Lazy Navy Recruiters Pale In Comparison To The Army Recruiters I Dealt With, Your Thoughts?

I dealt with the same two U.S. Navy Recruiters for 2 months. These guys are pathetic. First off I don't feel all Navy Recruiters are this way-these two were.

First thing: They lied about the Navy being the only branch that offers a chance to pursue Culinary. Come on guys, like I don't have a computer to look this up myself!

Secondly: My wife and I brought up a past non-physical domestic violence offense I had. I addition-I was a punk in my younger days and had alot of misdemeanors. These guys said "Oh we can't get that waived, nobody can waive that."

In addition, before my waiver was even an issue-I would leave 100 messages that were never returned, I waited for my recruiter to pick me up one day to take me to MEPS-he called me 5 days later saying "Oh man, I forgot-it's not personal-I forgot another one too."

Army accepted my waivers-and worked hard for me. Now these Navy recruiters are hollering "Go to the Navy".

Anyone have any similar recruitment stories?

  • Does The Army base your Basic Combat Traing Location On Your Current Location Or Your Future MOS?

For example, I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Will they send me to a location based on my location (I want to be as far from Ohio as possible actually) or will they base it on my future MOS (Quartermaster/ Food Service Specialist)? Just curious and excited about where I may be going for my basic once this neverending enlistment process is done.
