07 Toyota Corolla Transmission Issue-car won't move in any gear for more than 50 feet at a time. HELP!!!?

It's under warranty of course.

The car just stopped running. It starts of course but when I shift into any gear-nothing-zero movement. I left the car aprked and went back 3 hours later. The car moved about 100 feet-stopped again-no gears worked.

The next day I go back and the car moves about 25 feet in drive then stops-engine just revs.

My thoughts are if the transmission was completely out it wouldn't drive at all. I'm confused here.

It's under warranty but I don't have towing. If it is fixable myself I'd rather go that route then pay the $100 for towing.

Any advice?

Update:

My warranty through Toyota does not cover towing. I had to buy that extar "ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE"

It's not fixable yourself. Pay the tow. If Toyota covers the transmission, they should also cover the tow in the end.

I am a certified transmission rebuilder and i can tell you that a likely cause is a clogged filter. A simple service, new fluid and new filter (NOT A FLUSH) should help. you do however have some glazing on you clutch pack due to the slipping or not pulling, so a rebuild may be in your future. A flush does not get you what you need: the new filter!

The transmission is blown..... yes it may move a little due to some residual pressure but its toast ---- have it towed to the dealer...... You can not fix this yourself....... I am the first guy you'll meet that will say do your own work but NOT transmissions......... Automatic transmissions are like VooDoo science to me..... Ever take one apart??? The inside is more complicated than a swiss watch.... Automatic transmissions are so complicated I am amazed that they can even be fixed.... Tow it to the dealer....

You don't have to pay the tow fee, that's a part of the warrarnty.

Take it back to Toyota. It is either your car computer or low compression, which means you blew your car up. Take it to a professional.

    Good Luck!

call the nearest Toyota dealership and tell them your tale. i have self assurance that they are accountable, lower than assure, for procuring the vehicle to their dealership and repairing it. If not, promote it and purchase a Honda!
