Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Should Yahoo...?

Should yahoo seperate the questions and answers section for Believers and none believers? Or start a section that is simply for religious debates? This would give religious believers the oppertunity to learn about one another's religions and not always end up debating with none believers. So if you want a spiritual enlightment you would go to religion and spirituality, and if you want a debate you go to the debate section, and find Religious Debates.

Update:

Ps 1:1-6

1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

No, There is a vast opportunity to learn from other beliefs. If people stop calling each other idiot's for what they believe and perhaps read the post and ask why they believe this. Only by learning by each other can religious Prejudice be better dealt with. However this must start with our religious leaders. So I challenge the reader of this post to talk to your Religious leader, if this applies to you, and ask them why Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Pagans learn to accept each others beliefs. Can You say you are 100% certain that your faith is the Only true faith?

Separating believers, which I assume you mean Christians and all others only deepens the gap. BB Sdw

I don't feel like it would do any good. I mean that is what they tried to do with this section of yahoo answers. They separated 'religion and spirituality' from all the others so that we could have this space and they are here anyway. So I feel that as long as they know we are on here period, they will follow. Remember the Word of God says that with love and kindness has He drawn them. So all that is within us. let us love and show kindness to them. I realize that it gets hard sometime. But we are the only thing close to Christians that some of them have on a daily basis so let's use the gift that God has given us to the fullest. May God Bless

You would get answerers crossing sections anyways so it would not matter in the long run. Aside from which, is it ever right to separate because some can't handle the question or answer. Everyone is here by choice. One has the choice to just skip a question and not answer it at all.

Because immediately there would be an issue of what a non-believer is. Is it someone who does not believe in the Abrahamic deity? Is it someone who does not believe in the Hindu Shiva? Is it someone who does not believe in Asatru Thor? Is it a person who does not believe in Science? Everyone believes in something and in the lack of something. Who would make the decision about what one needs to believe in to be in the "Believer section"?

Why can't we use this forum to show how folks CAN learn to work out their differences and respect the views of others? How can we ever expect to live in harmony in the real world yet refuse to act that way on a simple Q&A forum? I believe that if enough of us try to be peaceful, that it will eventually catch on.

No. we are all God's children.

What you are suggesting is Apartheid.

Although I agree with you that this should not be used for debate. It is for the "best answer". We all know the "best answer" is never chosen. The answer that is picked is what the questioner is most comfortable with, not necessarily the truth. However, I love hearing everyone's diverse opinions. I'm here to learn, not proselytize

Christians, "believers," or people of faith don't need to be threatened by debate or by questions and challenges of those who don't believe or affirm the same things they do. As a matter of fact, I think it's good to be questioned and challenged in our opinions and ideas, whether they are about faith, politics, or moral issues. We can be enlightened by people who believe differently than ourselves. Honest and respectful discussion is always a positive thing.

    Why?

If you're looking for deep philosophical answers regarding religion, you're absolutely not going to find it here.

Start with Wikipedia and then go to various religions sites if you need to know more, they will often have message boards that can be used to answer questions.

Why? Do you want to segregate yourselves from us "lesser beings". Besides you would still end up arguing, amongst yourselves over the different religions.

after you have been here a while you will start to recognize which is which, and you can go to the questions that you want to.

you can start a separate section but you will find descention there also.
