Does having a baby make women smarter?

I just wanted to know from moms out there if you feel you are smarter now that you've had a child. There have been studies done about this, with findings that child-bearing's actually been beneficial to women's memories. Would you say that you are more focused since you've become mothers?

Update:

Oh brother. If people aren't going to just answer the god damn question, why do they even bother? lol.

actually in the beginning it was the opposite and talking to friends that had babies they were the same way too.

but years later i consider myself wiser and reflect back to when i was a child and doubted my parents "smarts". life experiences!

I used to have an excellent memory. I can't remember anything any more. I started forgetting things when I was pregnant. I feel like I'm just now starting to improve my memory. My son will be 8 in January. I believe those studies are wrong.

Well I can't answer this question as I'm a male ,,,,, I've never been pregnant in my life lol,,,, But from observing my wife I can say it's made her wiser and broadened he knowledge of child rearing ,,,, As for her intelligence ,,,, Well ,,,, When you are already at the top of the intelligence scale how do you improve on that ,,,,,,, ? My only question about her intelligence is her decision to marry me in the first place ,,,,lol

    Beneficial to memory???

I guess it made me dumber! lol I forget everything now and I'm so scatter brained. Too much work and not enough sleep. i can't see how this would make a woman smarter!

Scatter-brained more like it. I could keep up with myself before I had kids. Nowdays if its not on my calendar, I won't remember it. My kids have helped me learn patience and the fine art of multitasking till my eyes roll back in my head, but I dunno about affecting my intelligence. Those nights when I was up all night with a sick kid sure don't make me feel any smarter!
