How can i help my niece develop confidence?
My niece is 4 yrs old and is obsessed thet her hair has to be up and she is only pretty in a dress...what can I do to let her know she is pretty all the time, I try telling her and complimenting her in shorts and pants but just not working.

Apparently, her parents are raising her to believe this is what makes her pretty. Avoid the topic of pretty or ugly with her...engage her other sense of self worth...her MIND!

Tell her to get rid of that baby fat. Also tell her that her hair must be done up to a "T". She should also have the latest in fashion - even at 4 yrs old. She should also have her nails (finger and toes) just right. Let's see, what have I forgotten. Oh yes. She should always compare herself to others and make snide remarks behind their backs to boost her own self esteem.
