Im trying to tone my legs and butt by doing 30 min of cardio everyday?

I just started working out and I need some advice on toning up..Will cardio alone tone up my legs? Should I be working out everyday or a few days a week? any suggestions would be great:)

cardio is good, but if you dont add weight training and such, you basically go from being a large pear to a small one (not to imply anything - just a visual). you have to shape the muscles too. squats are great, add straight leg dead lifts (where you essentially reach down without bending your legs and pick up the bar) mule kicks (just slowly kick out back ward, raise your heal to the ceiling) quad extensions (where you sit in a chair with the bar across your shins and slowly kick forward) and try jumping rope. don't neglect the rest of your body, even though you have a target. the fat will come off faster if your whole body is involved. try whole body exersizes, like the clean and snatch (sounds bad. its an Olympic movement) and twisting lunges. very your cardio up - do running, then bicycling, then kickboxing - just to keep it interesting. also, do wind sprints. the burn MONSTER calories. (go to a track or football field. pick a distance and time a sprint{after warming up} for example, i do forty yard sprints, ten yard walk, forty sprint, ten walk, turn around. by sprint 5, im killing myself to get the same time i got on sprint 1. so i do six, then rest for five minutes, then again, 4 times. holy cow, it kills me. do that once, and only once, a week.) i will send a link to crossfit - great work outs, a forum to post progress and get help and encouragement (its all free) its a great deal. works fast. GOOD LUCK!! and PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY!!

First rule: love yourself second rule: love your parents third rule: be happy with and for yourself Sit down and understand that you are only 13. Look at your parents and other relatives - are they also fat? Write down a list of your food that you get to eat everyday. Go see a doctor for a physical to see if you have any medical problems like thyroid etc... Being fat when you are 13 it is still ok. So long as you know your kind of lifestyle and what you have been eating everyday. With the list of food you intake everyday - write down the calories and cholestrol & fats and start counting. Make sure you are consuming what is required for your age and bmi. But before you want to go on a sort of diet, make sure you get a green light from the doctor first. Ask him/her what kind of food and exercise would be good for you. Then stick to the plan for a while and adjust according to your lifestyle. If you notice that your parents and other family members are fat too, it could mean 2 things if you are medically fit. One could be the diet, that is the kind of breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or supper that your family share everyday. Two could be your genes. Good luck and don't go overboard with harsh exercise and crash diet - they may not be good for you in a long run. Keep it simple and enjoy your teenage life... there are plenty to experience... Stay happy and be true to yourself. Mostly love yourself. Balance in everything is the key. ps: drinking lots of water is good but only if your diet is not of high salt or sodium - it make your body retain water. Perspire with exercise.... Green tea is good if it is sugar or aspartme (artificial sugar) free. Sugar will give you a lot of energy - use it, otherwise it will also add on to your weight.

Its a good start, but its a combination of cardo, weights and diet. I suggest cardio every other day and try to build up time every couple weeks." Going up and down stairs is great for your legs".Try to hit the weights 3 days a week, stretch before hand.

Try to stay away from fast food, pasta, white bread and potatoes. White meat, fish fruits and veggies are the way to go. Good luck

Work out everyday somehow. Try pilates.

Don't expect immediate results--take your measurements now and in 1 month. You'll see results, trust me.

Just keep up with it; don't stop.

yea, the cardio is totally good, it will help burn fat off, in order to see the muscles beneath.

add weight training to your routine so that you can add muscles to you legs...it will really make them look shapely and sexy.

there are so many machinnes at the gym for legs. use them. trust ME.
