Can anyone help me overcome my fear of my heartbeat?

I have anxiety and panic disorder. Currently taking meds to control, 10mg celexa, Only at night when I'm trying to sleep, my heart pounds, freaks me out, I've had an echo done, my heart is fine, I start freaking, I'm going to have a heart attack, making my heart pound more! Try to breath, slow deep breathes, mentally take myself to a "happy calm place" nothing seems to work. Tried therapy, when I talk I cry, leave the therapist feeling 10 X's worse. Any SERIOUS advice please. I've been dealing with this for 2 years, I'm mentally and physically exhausted. I don't want to take MORE meds, I want to be in control.

    This is a serious illness in which I also have. I take medication and go to cognitive behavioral therapy. This helps you to "train" and "change" your thoughts from bad ones and get rid of the "what ifs."

    I usually suffer when driving and it is scary. Hang in there, I know that it is a long fight, but maybe it is good to know that you are not alone :)

    I'm not alone!! im serious! i have the exact same problem!! The way that I do this is I listen to music REALLY loud when trying to fall asleep, then concentrate on the musc , rather than my heartbeat and I also take meds for it and go to the therapist, and im slpwly progressing, the music thing is probably what has helped me the most so, yeah, try that..ive had panic attacks because of it//scary

    Stop taking any kind of medicines ,over a period of times these medicines causes side effects and one tend to get addicted .F or your problem i feel u could be having any subconscious fears ,try to find what exactly is making you nervous or anxious and remember one thing that every creature on this earth has one problem or other so try to become strong when ever you feel anxious try to rule out the cause .I had this problem sometime and tried alll med but only my will power helped me ,try to deviate your mind create a joyful,environment ,try to interact with your family ,friends and remember one thing to become bold and try to speak out your problems or worries .take a paper and write your plus points and minus points that way you can eliminates panic or fears .Try to find peace get closer to GOD and meditate :TRY DOING DEEP BREATHING ::::::.BEST WISHES

    Listen to music as your tryin to go to sleep and dont worry about your heartbeat, God made it to do its function and it pumps the exact same as it does at day!

    Maybe headphones with music playing to mask the sound?
