Does anyone live in Maui?
I have a lucrative job prospect in Maui. As exciting as the job may be, I am concerned about the cost of living. I'm a single person, so all I need is a studio apartment, but I don't want to blow most of my pay on just housing alone. Please, serious answers only.

yes the cost of living is a little higher but so is the compensation.
the main thing that hurts people in their wallets is the need to go to all these "tourist events" like luau's, the extreme night life and such. there is so much to do on Maui for free it would take at least years to do them all and then you can start all over again.
you need to as soon as you can try and secure a place to live and you can check them out on line. it is not as crazy as you may have been told. good luck (and have reasonable fun).
