Government censorship is a constitutional violation. The protections in the constitution only apply to govt (not private) action.

If you're talking about Yahoo, that's a private forum. And private forums are subject to whatever internal rules and policies they choose to adopt. Yahoo has guidelines that you argee to follow as a condition of using this private service.

I agree with your core concept -- people need to stop being so irrationally sensitive, and allow broad discussions. I don't agree with personal attacks, because they are largely pointless, but rarely is a general comment actually going to be a personal attack.

true. only a court can decide if freedom of speech was violated not individuals citizens unless your in their "house". most older Americans remember when people tryed to at least show respect for others. Even others with bad habits, But the PC crowd has forced many issue's down the throats of Americans. there was probably gays in the military during the civil war, but when did it become an issue? when the PC crowed got offended because a gay in the military was called a bad name. see what the PC crowd has caused? they are so enlightened ain't they?

Censorship is important to keep out the nasties out there. Unfortunately, censorship is being abused by the radical Christian right(burning Harry Potter books...damn nazi's), governments using censorship for their own self preservation and such.

Freedom is important. It is worth fighting for, including the act of making war with one's own government if necessary.

To a large extent the answer in subjective. However in my own opinion "censorship" is a violation of freedom of speech.
