  • Is censorship a violation of freedom of speech?

First my understanding: We are granted "freedom of speech" in the Constitution. However, I know that there should be a proper way of acting in public. There should be guidance for children when they are exposed to things that may seem inappropriate, such as nude sculptures in a museum or certain television show material. However, as adults, do we need other people to tell us what we can or cannot say in public? Sure, it looks bad when someone is speaking like a sailor, but then again, a sailor speaks like that because that's how a sailor speaks. If I wanted to use 'colorful' language on this forum, and if it offends anyone, why should it be blanked out and my original thought edited? Can't the other person choose to not read my comment and move on? I think that Americans, and it's mainly old Americans, are too uptight that they want to turn back the clock to a time when supposedly nobody cursed or exposed nudity. Can't people just grow up and accept other's thoughts?

  • Why do crybabies report abuse when not called for?

Just a few hours ago I answered a person's question about some computer programming issue he had. I told him that I had a similar problem the other day and that maybe he should read his text book to get his answer. Now I know that he wanted a direct answer to his question, but why should any one else do his homework for him? Needless to say that he didn't like my response and reported me to yahoo as "not a question or answer". Now what kind of baby is he that he needed to do that? I wish I was face to face with that little twerp and beat an answer out of him as to why he did that. Now my question to the masses....why are most people cry babies when it comes to the answers you get on yahoo? I agree and condone reporting anyone who insults you, your religion, race and whatever, but when you're told to do your own homework and to read for yourself, does that constitute a reporting to yahoo? There, I'm done with my "crying", so no stupid answers, or I'll report you myself. :)

  • What happened to muscle cars?

Before the movie fast and the furious came out, these buzzing, christmas light, NOS equipped little annoying cars (usually some import) were found in small numbers. I hate these stupid cars, it makes driving anywhere a pain since these idiots think that they are in the third fast and furious flick. I noticed that these "euro" styling is not only on imports, but also on mustangs, camaros, and the most painful of all firebirds. What happened to the muscle car of yesteryear? Remember seeing a Mustang pull up next to you and as you glanced over you swore you were in some drag race starting line after seeing that 'stangs engine boasting a supercharger and half the engine sticking out the top of the hood. I used to love to hear these cars ROAR down the road...now I see Mustangs and other muscle car types being downgraded to euro crap and when they drive off, a loud farting sound is what they make. Why don't we bring back muscle cars and lose the euro trash? (no offense to europeans)

  • Are humans so afraid to think for themselves that they created a god so to keep order?

I think that as humans our understanding of what is outside our planet and beyond is too much, too vast to try to comprehend that it can probably make us go mad. As much as we try to rationalize all that is around us, we sometimes don't have the answers for everything. With this in mind, I think that thousands of years back, some "great" minds got together and conjoured up this ball of wax we call religion. In order to not overwhelm humans with too much thinking, someone made a book that "explained" how all that is around us came to be. I say this because whenever anyone asks anything about aliens, other planets, or anything really, they always say something to the effect of "god made it so"... or such nonsense. Why can't religious people, any religion, give rational answers about things instead of hiding everything behind their god? (perfect examples will probably emerge in this question of mine).

  • Did some of our technology today come from alien intelligence?

I firmly believe that we are not alone in this existance. Humans have been known to produce a genius here and there in the past. Ever notice that not too many genius' have emerged lately. Not to discredit human achievements, but I wonder how much of our technology has come from outside (alien) intelligence? What do you think?
