Yes, it would be an advantage and somewhere even a requirement.

If you were a trained and qualified EFL teacher you would know that you do not need to speak L1 in order to teach English abroad. It may help you to function in Spain, to find work, and even to understand why your students make the mistakes they do (and how best to correct them) but it is by no means essential in order to teach English.

For your free time it would be beneficial to learn Spanish. But the school will tell you that you're only supposed to speak English in class.

That's kind of a no brainer, because until your students learn English, how will you either teach them or understand what they're saying?

    Yeah, learn Spanish.

there are specific programs that teach you how to teach english without speaking a foreign language. but come on lets face it, you'll have more luck getting a job if you are bilingual.

you'll want to ascertain with the certain state's branch of educating for his or her criteria. maximum states will require your B.A., some education journey, a fingerprint examine, and a passing score on an exam (nationwide instructor's exam/PRAXIS or a state-certain instructor's try). Google a state's call and "branch of educating" for extra records.

I assume that it'd [English] would be a second language for people there, and it's best for a second language teacher to be fluent in both languages.
