How to convert 8000 sample/sec audio to 44100 sample/sec (I use Audacity) ?

I have an audio data with sample rate 8000.

It's actually recorded from mp3 player.

I want to resample and equalize it above frequency 4 kHz.

As it is now with sample rate 8000, I can't equalize it correctly, as I want.

I use Audacity 1.2.4b. Answers related to Audacity are preferable.

If any other software, please mention the name and website.

Thank you!

First of all why are you rerecording from an MP3 player. Thats like making a copy of a copy of a copy. It's not a good idea.

Second you'll probably never get it to sound right. Upsampling doesn't fix the root problem.

I also believe that wav files don't support 8k, so you might want to try converting it to wav before editing it. The conversion might do this for you. Any converter will automatically sample it at 44k.

    audacity is nice.

but its gonna be real hard to push the sample rate up that high if it was recorded at such a crappy rate to begin with.

    Hi there,

The program I like the most for managing audio files (converting/ripping) is Total Audio Converter. Get it here http://j.mp/1sW2dLM

    I love it!

    Hope it helps.
