Do I have a problem with 2002 Chevy Blazer's fuel pump?

Yes I have seen similar problems but I have also scanned the cars and found other things that shut down the fuel pumps. You must see a mechanic that you trust, or has been recommend to look for the following:

Fuel pump relay

Fuel pressure

Crank sensor

Wiring problems

Ignition control module

Any of these things could shut off the fuel pump, so get some some one you trust to properly diagnose the problem.

yeah you probably have a bad fuel pump being it a chevy you probably let it get under 1/4 a tank a time or two and for some reason chevy fuel pumps are bad about going out if they arent completely submerged in fuel another way to check is to disconnect fuel filter so you have an open line and hot wire the fuel pump to see if it is pumping or not but i owuld say from what you describe that the pump is bad and you need to drop the tank and replace it

The computer looks for parameter, one being a given fuel pressure before it will start. You should hear the fuel pump for about four seconds as soon as you turn the key to on, before you turn all the way to start. And just because you might hear it, that does not mean that your pump is putting out the required pressure.

OK here is the deal...put everything back together the way it was. now crank the engine a few times. making sure to turn the key all the way off each time. Now right where the fuel rail and fuel line come together there is a shater valve (looks like a tire valve stem) it even has a black tire valve cap on it. take the cap off and push in the valve with a pencile or something...beware gas will spray out...or at least I bet it does...if that is the case you are in fact getting gas. If not then move on to the pump...

My hubby has one and it's fuel pump went out way before 30,000 miles so yes it could be that. I always say never let the tank go dry that wreaks the fuel pump faster.

As you describe it could be the fuel pump or the strainer on this pump, assuming you checked the other parts of the system correctly. The only way to gain access to the pump is to drop the tank, but first drain as much gas as you can, to reduce the weight. Be careful as gas is very dangerous to work with.

I have a 97 jimmy, simalar truck i guess, where at about 85k miles, had to have a fuel pump replaced. Ran great until recently...in which case it will not start ...im hoping my filter is clogged....because i can hear the pump motor.

Prolly the pump, mine costed about 500 to replace.
