where and how can you locate your own ip address?

odds are you have a dynamic ip.

dynamic ips change all the time so your ip will not able to point to your computer in a few hours.

that email was made with html, it was like a website in a email, when you opened it you were connected to a website. When you connect to a website you see the websites ip and they see your ip.

(part of the communication) they are just showing you on there webpage in the email that they have seen your ip just then. That email did not have your ip in it before you opened it. If i were to open that same email on my computer it would show my ip and not yours.

All you need to do is be safe with what you download, run a firewall (i like zone alarm pro), anti virus, and keep your windows up to date with the updates and you will be fine.

so if they were to post it some where it would no longer have anything to do with you.

If you want your own ip number. Go down to the bottom of your screen and left click on the icon that you get when you first conect to the internet. And when the box come`s on your screen click on detail`s. And a box that say`s property value will come up. And at the bottom you will see your ip number. And you will also see the ip of your server. Your server`s ip will be above your ip number. Your ip number will be the client ip number. My internet conection look`s like two computer`s going off and on. I can`t say what your icon look`s like.

IP adress is legal you wont get punished. If you are on a windows click start, click, run, type CMD, when a black windows comes up type ipconfig. If you are using a mac go to system preferences> Network>Click configure>Go to TC/IP.

Go to Start>Run; type "cmd" (no quotes) and hit enter. You will see a DOS prompt on a black screen. Type "ipconfig" (no quotes) and hit Enter. You will get the ip address of your computer.
