To dream that you are dancing, signifies freedom from constraints and harmony/balance with yourself. You are working in cooperation with yourself. To dream that you are attending or going to a dance, indicates a celebration and your attempts to achieve happiness. Consider the phrase the "dance of life" which suggests creation, ecstasy, and going with what life has to offer you.

As with all things involving the psyche, it depends. Were there sheets involved? Was the dancing going on between the sheets? Were the sheets silk or cotton with a high percale? What color?

Also... and no seriously... consider this. Are you ovulating right now? IE will your "friend" be showing up in about 1 week? If so, you're desire to dance between silk sheets may be elevated by increased projesterone levels. This increased hormone and associated sex drive may have caused you to subcontiously recall someone you may have evaluated as a potential suitable mate. This was then expressed in your dream life, rather subtly, in the form of dancing.

Then again, maybe you've been watching to much "dancing with the stars".
