Why has it became the norm in today's society to think that it is humor to joke about things that aren't funny, and that wouldn't be funny if they actually happened? I think way too many people say so many things that aren't funny at all, and it is really distubing that so many people are desensitized to this type of harsh, sick things.

i agree with you.
there are many reasons some of which are ignorance. intolerance, prejudice, self centering, racism and immaturity.
all of the above are alive and well in our society

you need to give some examples. your question is difficult to understand. people are not all cut from the same mold...some things are funny to some ppl, and some things aren't. if it's not funny to you, by all means, don't laugh. you can walk away, turn the channel, turn it off, and tune out. the choice is yours....
