I have bad credit. How can I make it better? Enough to actually be approved by a credit lender?
About four six years ago I financed a car loan and by the third year into it owing about $3000 I stopped paying on it because it was a piece of crap. It had lots of problems and I couldn't drive it. The car dealer gave me a bad deal because I had no established credit.
I never filed bankruptcy, I just dumped the car somewhere and never paid on it. So obviously because of this I have bad credit.
I've never received a credit report (because of procrastination) so I don't know how low my score is. But could someone give me some advice on how to regain good credit if noone will approve my credit applications?

To answer this question requires alot more information.
It requires educating yourself in the laws of fair credit acts, as well as collection agency policies.
It will take alot of work, and time.
Here is where to start. Yeah, I know , its not an easy answer and just do this "one" thing.
www.ezboard.com
search for credit repair forums..all the info is there- FREE!
You can register into ezboard and ask questions. I know alot of those people on the credit boards, and would recomend them to anyone.

Hey! I know how that is girl. I just repaired my credit to purchase a home. The best thing you can do is to obtain a copy of yopur credit report at least twice a year. Just because you made a wrong decision about a car, dont be ingnorant towards your credit. Nowadays all you are is credit. Get you credit report and try calling the dealer you purchased the car from and work out a payment arrangement, pay the arragement as agreeed and this will help your credit score go up. Sometimes furniture and other things that you have a monthly payment on will help. You can try and get approved for something like that and pay it on time, to rebuild your credit.
It takes a while, but hey you gotta start somewhere. Good Luck!
PS. There is a website you can go to and you can get a free credit report over the internet www.annualcreditreport.com.

pay the car off. unfortunatley you did not handle that bad deal too well. it was surely turned over to collections. that will stay on your credit for a LONG time. Pay off any other bills you have. thats the only way to improve your credit.
