Can Sims2.com?
Ok, I have a computer at home and I have Deluxe Edition sims, and makin magic. I havn't have any problems, with it until I got the internet on it. Then I got an account on Sims2.com. Then I started getting Trojon Vundo virus's, on my computer. Why would sims2.com have virus's sent to my computer. I don't understand why? Now I have figured out where it come from. Now my father thinks, that my software makin magic is what is infecting the computer. I know where it came from, sims2.com. That's how it came in. Did it effect my software because it's sims? Tell me what you think?
Yeah, my father says, I can't download anything from anywhere. But That's not the problem, I don't download anything. I havn't done that since 2002, when I have my boyfriend. He was the only one who knew how to unzip the files. I don't. I didn't download anything, so it's gotta be I clicked on something. I actually think it might be from the forum bbs. Cause I have had a problem ever since I went in there, to ask questions. So confusing to me.
Hey FIOR, what kind of computer do you have?

if you have downloaded any houses or lots for your sims game and you chose a house or lot or items for your lot that have things that people added to the lot or house themselves things that arent from the website it' self... it is possible because they may not have used the downloadable objects from the sims 2 .com but from other internet sites... then they upload it on the sims 2 site and it has a virus u download the same thing and now u have it too... they have a little warning sign that you should look for when downloading objects... if you haven't downloaded i dont see how you got a virus just from the site... it doesnt make anysense unless you downloaded something...

The Sims 2 site has a lot of custom content, available for download - anytime you download anything from anywhere on the Internet, you stand a chance of also getting a virus.
Tell your Dad the virus did not come from the software game you purchased, but the website you visited and downloaded it from - or even, possibly, another site or link someone downloaded from or clicked something on, as the above poster noted. You need to update and run your anti-virus software and, also, update and run any anti-spyware software you have on your computer, just like you would any other time it is infected.
I've had much more luck - and no problems with hacked content or viruses - downloading my custom content from The Sims Resource rather than the official Sims site(s), so you might want to try there.

Actually you don't have to download anything, you click on one wrong link and it can direct you to another site without you knowing it until your too late. I got the same virus but from Myspace, well actually my brother did. He clicked on a person's picture to go into their gallery and it directed them elsewhere, and right then we got the virus.
TS2 checks all it's files before there uploaded for virus's, they wouldn't let someone put an infected file in there database. That would cause a humungous problem. I think you might have clicked a link somewhere, or maybe someone in your family. And your sims games are not infecting your computer. Your going to want to get it off the computer though if you havent already, it's not a serious virus though and it doesn't delete files.
Run whatever antivirus you have and do a full system scan to get it off the computer and check for any other virus's it might have let in. If you don't have one, then go on the internet and get a free one done, or consider buying one now.

:O I love The Sims 2 this is actually shocking to me because I haven't had a single problem with The Sims. You probably want to get your computer the anti-virus.
