What are the favorite themes for stories for children 3-7?

    Favorites in my classroom have Bugs, Transportation, animals-Jungle and Zoo. Families, Friends, circus, Themes on story books work well for 2 weeks- Literary themes. Dinosaurs are real big. Fairy tales are ok, the kids liked some of the old folk tales.

    My three year old likes dragons, castles and the medieval stuff. Anything that is an adventure they can visualize, make up their own story lines, something that has minor danger, like bats or furry monsters that are easily overcome.

    Fairy tales, stories about happy little animals learning simple life lessons, silly stuff that will make them laugh.
