Can Microsoft Office open OpenOffice Documents?
I know that I could save it as a doc or whatever. I just want to know if it has the capability yet. Message me: johnkyblue on YM, and I will send you an odt document to test what happens.
So what happens when you try?

Not as such. You can save a file in openoffice as a .doc format, and then Office will open it no problem, however Word can't open a .odt file.
The next version of Office is supposed to support the open sourced file formats better, so if you get your hands on a copy of Office 2007 you'll be better off.

Not unless you save it in the format that it can read. When you have your file ready to save, click FILE SAVE-AS and then select the Microsoft option (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc). Otherwise, nope, it won't open a OO document.

If you save files as the .rtf format just about ever word processor and editor can open these kind of files. If you save files in open office as Microsoft type of files MS Office can open them.
