Have you heard of this Scam??
I currently have an English Bulldog and would like to get him a buddy (preferably another bulldog). I regularly check the classifieds to see if any are available and have come across this situation 3 times.
I will respond to an add for bully they are selling. They email me back saying they feel really bad that they are unable to keep the puppy since they are in china on missionary work. They continue to say they got the puppies in the states and are fully vaccinated and have there AKC papers. They ask for all of my info (name, address, home phone and how I will pay them). Also, inform me where to wire them the money.
What's the deal??

It's A SCAM! Hello. That's why it's there. It's been working somewhere, for someone. Spam them out of your book and go through a reputable Bulldog breeder. Ask your vet for referrals. Call the American Breeders for local breeders or find puppies being born. Best to find a mother dog pregnant before they're born and then be in line for a bid for one of the pups. Might as well do it right if it's worth doing at all.

This type scam was recently in the news, just a few weeks ago. Cannot remember if it was local news or like a 20/20 report.
Skip the scam and go to Petfinders.org and rescue a dog. You can specify your location, breed, etc. There are breed specific rescues with dogs really needing homes. The adoption fee normally covers all vetting and a healthy dog. Breed specific rescues who only take in and adopt out a certain breed are pretty expert on the breed and will be able to furnish good info on the dog and its personality, etc.
And you may be saving a life!!! Not all rescues are no-kill.

These people are definitely scammers. I saw a show about some people selling an hour on the phone with Dr. Phil. When they ask to to wire money. Forget about it. They will take you to the cleaners. Buy a bulldog that you can pet and see for yourself. Good for you you haven't fallen for this one. It's all over the internet nowadays. Missionaries - I don't think so.
Good Luck

SCAM!!!! RUN!!! DO NOT answer them, there ARE NO PUPPIES!!!
I recently put an ad in the local paper for one of our Boxer pups we had presold, then the people that bought him bounced their check that they gave us to hold the puppy for them. I had 15 emails from people "claiming" to be interested in my "product", and wanted to know if my "Product" was in new or used condition, how long have I had my "Product", as well as my exact location, so they could send someone over to box my "product" up carefully, and ship it via UPS to their home town.(UPS does NOT ship pets!!!) Had one lady come out to look at the puppy, who had answered the exact ad you mention, SENT THEM MONEY, and is still waiting for her Bulldog puppy. 14 months ago.

Man can you believe people this day in time. I would get the wire information and take it to the police or something. A**wholes of the world think that they are smart but I guess that there are people out there in the world that would do that. Good Catch!!

They are trying to rip you off! Report them first to the classifieds and then call your local news they love these kinds of scams and letting the public know there out there!

This is why is it best (& safest) to find a dog through your closest chapter of the breed's club (find at www.akc.org). You can talk with members of the club & buy from a reputable breeder that tests & certifies his dogs free from genetic defects - or adopt a dog through the breed's rescue group, also on that website. All legitimate!

Dont deal with them anymore!! Cut all ties with them!!
Adopt from Humane Society, SPCA, or any other legitimate adoption agency. Try not to buy from classified ads.
