I was looking into dealer schools for poker in Vegas..?
I talked to a school that said they are not teaching poker right now because of the over population of poker dealers with no jobs...Is this true? If anyone knows about this...please let me know. There are other schools that are teaching poker so I'm wondering if it is a waste of time

It depends - there is a booming market for quality poker dealers in a bunch of underground games. If you are looking for a casino job, it is most probably seasonal and you will have to start out working at the least attractive properties. I would recommend taking an online course for poker dealing and spending a few weeks dealing in a private home game or a bar poker league and making sure that dealing full time is something you want to do. I searched the web for a poker dealing course and saw this: http://www.dealer-training.com/

I have a friend that just got back from Vegas, and he claims that this is true. There are a lot of poker dealers out there, perhaps more than jobs. Consider how many were needed for the WSOP. More than are needed for the number of card rooms out there.
So it's probably not that easy to walk right into a poker job these days.
