Canon PowerShot S3 IS Memory Card?

Alright, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be receiving the Canon PowerShot S3 IS for Christmas. However, I was wondering if anyone new what kind of memory card would be best. I don't think just any card will work but I'm not quite sure on that.

So, if you have this camera, what kind of memory card do you use?

If you do not have it, what would you recommend?

Thanks to anyone who can help =]

Canon PowerShot S3 IS uses either MultiMedia Card or SD card. Since SD card is the more popular type compared to MMC card, I would sugesst you to get the SD Card.

Right now the best choice would be 2GB SD card for the best space/dollar ratio. Any brands would be all good since SD card is pretty common now days.

    Good Luck

1st Link: You can actually get a 4GB SD card pretty cheap. See link.

2nd Link: Check Steve's digicams site. This link takes you to the 6-7mp cameras. You can compare the cams and see sample pics take with each.

Your model can support only SD Card or Multimedia Card. Go for SD card. Storage capacity starts from 32KB to 4GB. Thats your choice that how many pics u want to store it. Go for medium one 512 KB or 1GB , if u r confused.. More the capacity more the price..hehe...help yourself now.

Perhaps my idea of "quality" and other persons are different, but if you ever consider printing 8x10's or cropping, then yes the quality does suffer. It's recommended that you always shoot at the "best" setting, unless you are sure you only want your pictures for things like web content. SD cards and external drives are getting to be quite cheap.

My daughter has an S2 IS and got the 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II. She has not had any problems related to write speed, etc, so I'd consider that an endorsement.
