I have down loaded a program that is in a zipped file...some help please?
I have dowloaded a registry cleaner that is a free ware , but it went into a zip file. When I attemted to open it , a wizard prompted me to down load in to another file, bit I still can't get the thing running. I dont know how. How can I get the thing running and get it to give me a short cut on my desk top. I have a windows xp computer for home. Please help?

If the file you downloaded is in the .ZIP format then winXP should handle it. However if you would like to get a free program that opens and creates ZIP files then you can get it from the link below. Good luck!

If you installed windows XP. Right click on the zipped file and then click Extract files.

I use WinRar. It is a really good program that is compatiabley with a variety of compressed file formats such as .zip and .rar. Also, it's really handy to have one program decompress so much.

The best choice to open (extract) zipped files is definitly WinRar. It's able to decompress a lot of different files as zip,rar,iso,7z,jar and much more.

Try this free compressed program. It can support the following format (uncompress): 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS.

Don't know the program...but do as the wizard says and unzip into another file and look for a file like install.exe or setup.exe and double click on it. That should install your program.

Download a free trial sample unzipper called "WinZip" from www.winzip.com it should be good for 30 days, and it will keep reminding you to register, but it will work.
