Are you comfortable with the marina coil?

I have had one fitted recently and have ended up with a major PID which I am on loads of medication for now, I would love to hear if you have had positive experiences with this or had the same thing happen but have gone on to be happy with it.

I'm on my second Mirena (they have to be replaced every 4-5 years), and I really like it. The first months involved sporadic bleeding, but nothing excessive, and now I don't get periods...just spotting for 1-2 days a month. I must admit that my skin has changed a little since I've had it though, I get blackheads and have unwanted facial hair that I didn't before, but that may be due to aging.

However, I've just been diagnosed with a rather large ovarian cyst and from what I've read, the Mirena may have something to do with that (augments your chances of developing a cyst by 3).

I have one friend who has one and likes it and has a story similar to mine, but from what I've heard, it is one of those 'love it or hate it' things.

My cousine had a Mirena fitted at the end of September. Have had constant pain and bleeding until last week. Went for her coil check on last to last Friday and nurse couldn't find the threads. Went to Dr again and she can't find it either and thinks her body has expelled it which apparently is unusual but would certainly explain why she feels so much better. If it has come out it is staying out. She was tired, moody, sore and bleeding for two months. Sex was fine but the pain afterwards was awful. On a positive note my cousine has nothing but praise for hers. She was sore for about a month but hasn't had any bleeding at all. Good luck!

Well, here we go again. You know right now Dear, there are several new types of safe a quick safety measures you could try that require little to no problems. One lady admits the "cup" is nasty because of taking out and cleaning, remember nothing should get through. The manufacture didn't think of this part. It also has slipped at the most improper moment.

I hope this works for you, you have to stop worrying so much.
