What do you think about the flying Muslim Clerics?

Actually it was in the spirit of "life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness." The "life, liberty and persuit of hapiness" of the other passengers. The A.C.L.U. should stay out of this.

Until it could be confirmed that these clerics posed no threat to the plane and its other passengers they should not have been allowed to board.

Until such time that aircraft are being taken over and used as guided missles by someone other than young Arab Muslims, then Muslims should expect to be singled out.

Until such time as someone other than Muslims are threatening us and working toward the destruction of western civilation then Muslims should be viewed with suspicion.

And American Muslim clerics could do far more to help bring this under control if they would simply stop encouraging the extremists by thier tacit, and sometimes outright, support for the actions of the terrorists.

I think that, given the circumstances, the airline people were well withing their rights to pull those people off the flight until an investigation could be conducted. Let's see if I have this right:

Several Muslim Clerics are travelling together. In an airport, and in full view of others, they gather for a prayer which although proper, was probably conducted in a language that not many of the witnesses would have been able to understand. Then these folks board a plane and scatter to different parts of the airplane, some taking seats that were not assigned to them. If that doesn'r raise suspicions, I don't know what would.

So, the authorities request that these clerics leave the plaane for an investigation, and they refuse. OK, even a little more suspicious. I can understand why things happened the way that they did.

As for me, I think that most Americans would have been a whole lot less suspicious had the American Muslim Community not remained so strangely quiet after the 9/11 tradgedy and had spoken out more against the radicals. Now their silence is coming back to haunt them because, quite frankly, people don't trust them, especially when they say that they would put their religion ahead of their citizenship.

I have to wonder if this wasn't a planned act by some radical group...all Christian Americans know some things are just not allowed in airports & planes. The muslims should also know this and plan accordingly! Why does every group (Muslims, Hispanics) expect "special" treatment? What is becoming of our country - all of us are inconvenienced everyday when we choose to fly. Get over it!

It is impossile to "check" everyone according to their race, color or creed so if it takes racial profiling to keep us safe - so be it!!

To me, it all boils down to this.... were their actions creating a disturbance on the plane. If so, off they go. If not, the airline was wrong. Maybe next time they will schedule a flight that doesn't interfere in their worship.

Among other things, they asked for 'seat-belt extenders', and the flight crew said it didn't appear they needed them, HMMMMM. I wonder if that's suspicious.

And FYI, Al Queda has been known to 'practice' disturbance and 'gauge' the response. I smell Al Queda.

I dont understand why they get on planes, when they have them cool magic flying carpets.
