Surviving Christmas (2004)

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
Jingle All the Way (1996)
The Santa Clause (1994)
Home Alone 2 (1992)
Home Alone (1990)

because when the movie is set around Xmas time, it gives the plot a "jump". A jump means when the setting is taken care of (snowy), it is easy to think of a problem (so many crazy things can happen around christmastime), some of the characters are taken care of (santa, many crazy relatives visiting), and other stuff too. there are many problems around christmas that movie makers can make it to be funny. example:
Deck the Halls: there is a competition to see who can make the best decorations
Santa Clause3: santa has a problem
Home Alones: the hustle and bustle of all the relatives coming in makes them forget the little kid
grinch: some weird guy likes to steal presents from little innocent kids
Elf: this crazy human that thinks he's an elf wants to find his non believing dad
i think u get it now
i know, it's terrible

Because people go beserk at Christmas time, what with spending time with relatives you don't really like all that much, shopping in a super-crowded mall for gifts for people you don't like all that much, spending too much money and still paying for Christmas in March.
It's just a fun, mindless way to take some of the pressure off. If you watch some stupid movie, it always makes you laugh and realize how much worse things really could be.

When Hallmark puts out their Christmas ornaments in July do you really have to ask that question??
