Eurail and Seat Reservations?

I will be traveling to Europe for the first time in a couple weeks. I have a four-country rail pass and will be taking the train into several different cities. According to my schedule, there are some travel segments that require seat reservations. I understand that they should be made once I am in Europe, as it is more expensive to make them while I'm in the US. My question is, how do I reserve a seat? Can any rail station make a reservation for me? Can I do it over the phone? Do they need to be made in advance of my train trip, or can I just walk up to a window (say an hour before the train leaves) and pay for it then?

Thank you for any and all advice!

It is easy. Trains are a fabulous way to travel in Europe.

Go to the station where you will start your trip segment that requires a reservation and get them there. There is usually a special room or area for reservations--not the general ticket line, unless it is a small station.

If getting reservations in a large city, like Milan, arrive plenty early as it is a take a number and wait situation.

You have to get the reservations in the country in which your trip originates. For example, you cannot make reservations in Switzerland for a trip segment that will begin in France.

Just in case you end up in a station where the clerks don't speak English it is a good idea to write down the info for the train that you want. You should have received a timetable with your Eurail Pass.

Also, make sure that you fill in each segment of your trip on your pass as indicated in the instructions, before you board the train. In some countries, and depending on the conductor if you have not done this you could be fined.

    Have a blast!

you will possibly desire to get a practice fee ticket with your ecu-rail pass from each and every station which you will leave from only like a universal client... ecu-rail pass is a chit card extremely for those practice tickets, and on occasion based on the trains you have have been given to even pay one greater fee...
