I had a question about my boxer, but deleted it, because 1 answerer the only answer in my time zone?

Answered with just question marks. My boxer to me is very sick and would like advice, could I ask the question again now? Or wait for the time zone? Just wanted a home remedy on my boxer's condition. Exchange if you just want the points go to another catagory and leave pet lovers alone. Sorry I do not want to be mean, but my bumba, (boxer) is very ill.

Update:

I can not vote at this time (4 hours needed), but My question was about my boxer who does not act sick but is, I think a very bad cold, her nose sounds stuffed but is running, her eyes are very red and the sound that comes from her throat is like, (sorry, someone trying to bring up flem). Winter is coming fast here in the Alps of Italy, but she has a warm doghouse in a stall. My other boxer peggy has none of these symtems, I wonder if it is because Bumba's nose is more squished in than Peggy's. Peggy is fine. Just want a home remedy to help Bumba's breathing. Saw answer's only after I deleted this the first time because of the question mark responder, but thank you all.

Update 2:

The vet in my area is away, and I live miles from the nearest town. We usually rely on home remedies here, but my boxer bumba is far from a horse or a cow that we can all treat until the vet arrives.

Hi. I'm sorry your dog is sick and your couldn't find the help you were looking for earlier.

I just looked in "The Hound Health Handbook" by Betsy Brevitz, DVM. I will summarize what she says about canine colds.

If your dog is eating okay, acting okay and doesn't already have a serious health problem, you can take care of this at home.

Try giving the dog some chicken soup that is "lukewarm and not too oily or salty" Give the dog plenty of rest and water.

She also suggests running a hot shower and hanging out with the dog in the steamy bathroom for 5-10 minutes once or twice a day to loosen the congestion.

Clean around the dog's eyes with wet cotton balls a couple of times a day.

Keep your other dog away to decrease the chances he/she? will get it.

Obviously, if Bumba gets worse you'll have to take him to the vet when the vet is back.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

You are planning on keeping a Boxer OUTSIDE? No,no,no! Please read about the breed - they are NOT able to tolerate cold or heat well because of their brachycephalic airway, low % of body fat & short single coat, and are definately an indoor breed. He is sick BECAUSE he is outside - he needs to see a vet, probably get some anitibiotics, and become an indoor dog. My sister had a neighbor that kept his Boxer outside in spite of my warnings - and when it turned colder, it did the same thing (runny eyes & nose, etc). Around Christmas, he went out to find it DEAD in its 'nice warm' doghouse. PLEASE do not let this happen. Boxers are an indoor breed. If you want an outdoor dog, get a Siberian Husky & find a more appropriate home for you poor, cold Boxer. I would hate to have this happen to your poor Bumba!

Source(s): I worked for vets & have owned Boxers since 1988.

if you r so worried about your boxer...what r u doing on the computer??! Find the closest vet and find out what time it opens...call first and say it might be an emergency...they will take you in an appointment right away...they should.

good luck...i bet your bumba is going to be just fine

Your question is posted on Yahoo Answers regardless of the Time Zone. So feel free to ask questions. Remember though that people who answer question are just Yahoo user, like you and me. We are not necessarily professionals in the field you are asking about. Please clearly state what the issue is. You mentioned that you dog is sick. Please edit your question with the symptoms. If anyone has experience with it, they might be able to help. Advice from someone on Yahoo Answers is never a substitute for a veterinarian's diagnosis.

NO idea what you are asking!!!! I can tell you that there is RARELY a home remedy for a very ill dog. The best remedy is the vet!!
