What is the strangest law you have heard of?

Anyone know any strange or unusual laws that are still on the statute books? I would like only genuine laws but would like any that are funny as well

    In my state:

    1. One may not test their physical endurance while driving a car on a highway.

    2. Babies may not be carried on the running boards of a car.

    3. A door on a car may not be left open longer than is necessary.

    4. Dishes must drip dry.

    5. It is illegal to whisper "dirty" things in your lover's ear during sex.

    6. Ice cream may not be eaten on Sundays.

    7. One may not bathe without wearing "suitable clothing."

    8. Canned corn is not to be used as bait for fishing.

Naturally, most of these (with the exception of the baby one) are not enforced, and have been stuck on the books for the lest 100 or so years. But it's still funny to think that going to Dairy Queen on Sunday is against the law.

I think Mutiny on board Her Majesty' s vessels are

punishable by hanging. In some parts of the country

in England, if a villager is getting married, the bride

must spend the wedding night in the lord's bed, I cannot

confirm whether this law is still in force.

The strangest are so-called bye-laws. That means that they are local and not acts of parliament. The right to drive sheep down Oxford Street in London is one that comes to mind.

In Cumbria I came upon a sign outside the Chemist's shop where you could obtain a fishing licence. It read 'tickling and groping are strictly forbidden.'

Having grown up there, I knew what it meant, do you?

In Chico, CA it is against the law (and yes there is a specific statue written) to detonate a nuclear device within city limits. There is a $500 fine for breaking this law.

In England, your employer must provide stabling, feed and bedding for your horse when you are at his place of employment.

It is also unlawful for a pub landlord to stop a woman breast feeding a baby in his pub.

Do you like sweet iced tea? If you travel over several states, you will find that sweet tea is not always available. However, in Georgia, where I live, there is a state law enacted several years ago that states that a restaurant that offers iced tea must have sweet tea, not just unsweetened.
