Why do People hide their true feelings?

I for the life of me, can't understand what does it profit an individual, to say they are fine with something. When deep inside they are very troubled, with the out come of whatever it is they are no longer involved in. Instead of saying how they truly feel they, disguise the truth with not being to concern at all. Even though, the person is in pain, who is hidding their true feelings. Does it make it less painful, that the other person is not told . I have no qualms, in sharing how I feel! (It is what It is) Love,Pain,Sad,Happy, and most of all I remain FREE! Oh, I almost NEVER do that... Umless I am delibrately trying to spare someone else their feelings... Which almost NEVER happens!

I believe in the bumps and bruises of the soul... They are good for both the person being honest and the person dealing with the bluntness of the honesty! It is the only way for this Witch to fly!

As for why others do it... I ask myself that question every day and tend to avoid the human race as a whole because of it. I do not know how to deal with a person that can lie to themselves or anyone else for that matter on an issue that is painfully obvious!

Trolls off humming to herself "Im not okay, I promise."

Some people, as they are raised, have others around them who don't want to hear things like that. Maybe a macho father doesn't think his son should be emotional and vulnerable. Maybe the parents are immature and can't handle their children's emotional issues because they haven't resolved them in their own life. For various reasons, children may learn that no one wants to hear their problems. Children may learn that if they feel 'miserable' they are not fun to be with, that in order to have friends they must be happy. Children don't determine the background in which they come from, and learn from.

some people are just emotionally better off at expressing themselves while others are at different levels... alot of it comes from how they were raised to what they've chosen to fix about themselves....ignorance is blisss....and it's people like that who make me thanful to not be so blissful all the time.

I think they are intimidated of what others will think. They can be thought of as weak or childish and it scares them off from revealing their true feelings.

Also sometimes they are embarrased by what they really feel.
