Removing Deep freeze odors?

I was given a deep freeze. It had been outside for some time with meat rotting in it. I have cleaned it with everything I can thing of and nothing removes the smell and the smell has tained anything I have placed in it.

I would like to have any input that will help. I would hate to get rid of it but I currently can't use it because of the smell.

Thank You in advance for the help

Washing the inside of the freezer will remove only the surface issues. The interior is lined with plastic and plastic is notorious for absorbing food smells. The one and only thing I've ever seen work well is charcoal. Go get 2 or 3 bags of regular grill charcoal (not the kind with lighter fluid already in it and place them opened in the freezer. If you have a few large boxes to put them in that will help too. Close the lid and turn the freezer on, you want air to circulate in there, not be stagnant. Remove the bags and replace them after a week, you should notice a HUGE improvement. If there is still a smell you can repeat the process.

If the insoles are removable, take them out and wash them by hand. If not, just leave them in. Then clean the inside of the shoes with an antibacterial wipe. You can leave the wipe inside overnight if you want. To prevent odor from returning, every time you take them off for the night, sprinkle the inside of the shoes with a little baking soda. Take a few sheets of newspaper and crumple them loosely and place that inside the shoes until the next time you wear them. Remove the paper and shake out the excess baking soda just before you put them on.

Give it a good washing with hot water and Baking Soda. Then take a bowl of white vinegar and place it inside the freezer, close the door and leave overnight,This should remove any odor that was there.

ML, was it out with TSP, then add a box of Arm & Hammer baking soda in the FZR

the stink of fish smell is removed by milk

try em all if the FZR is worth it

Scrub it out with 1/2 bleach & 1/2 water, then leave the lid open & let it air dry. Next put one or two of them refriderator/freezer boxes of baking soda in it.

Clean it well with bleach. Rinse well. Put one or two large cans (depending on size of deep freeze) of cheap coffee in it. Check after a couple of days. You may have to do it twice.

Is it an upright or chest freezer? If you can leave water in it, put bleach and borax (in the laundry aisle) and pour in the hottest water you can. Let it sit over night. After I removed the water, I'd scrub it with a (new, of course) Clorox toilet wand. (I use one in my refrigerator for an occasional good scrubbing)

The only thing I can think of is to wash it out with Lysol (brown bottle) and then put a few open boxes of baking soda in there to help absorb the odor. Good luck w/ that !

Try putting a box of baking soda in the freezer and leaving it for a few days.

Source(s): Works the same as for a fridge

If the baking soda doesn't work, try using odor eaters. This is just a guess, but if they work to get rid of smelly feet, why not a smelly freezer?
