not a safe living arrangment?

I need to know if there is anyone who knows the legal laws in Nebraska??? My daughter rented an apartment with another girl. Both names on the lease. And my daughter pays the agreed rent. Both were getting along fine until the roommate decided to move her boyfriend in (Not on the lease) Than the boyfriend got in my daughters face when she brought some groceries in and he felt she needed to share with him and his girlfriend. Since then my daughter has not felt safe. The roommate has made threats that she is going to throw all of her belongings out and the roommate has broken into her room and stolen a paystub (Not sure what she planned to do with it.) My daughter doesnt want to break her lease because she doesnt want to ruin her credit. Is there any legal way to breaking a lease?? If so, how does one go about doing so?? This is for the state of Nebraska...

Update:

The landlord has been notified of the matter along with the police. The landlord says it will be breaking the lease and the police say nothing can be done until someone is seriously hurt??!!??

Update 2:

Also the girl refuses to take my daughter off the lease...Im in California, or I would go and insist she remove my daughter from that lease.

Any advice is welcomed.

Umm..not going to pretend I know about lease laws but..I've never heard of a landlord who agreed to let an extra person move in without both parties agreeing in writing. Someone broke the lease here, I'm guessing the girlfriend. Still, why didn't the landlord ask for more rent, now he's renting to three people?? Landlords are the tightest people I've ever met, he wouldn't miss this golden opportunity.

I'd do two things, one-get down to your daughter and talk to the landlord yourself, you may be surpised, and not pleasantly. Second, inform the landlord that the lease has been broken by bringing in the boyfriend without written consent and pack your daughter up. I'd do this today.

Paystub huh? I'd watch her accounts VERY closely, there might be a possibility of idendity theft here. I would think the landlord would be a better help in how to deal with this sort of problem. It would be in his/her interest to help her deal with theses two. Put a lock on her bedroom door. Check pepper spray laws or concealed weapons laws. Be prepared and learn how NOT to be a victim. GOOD LUCK!!
