Whats this Police insignia ?
This is a bit of an unfortunate pose in which to catch a police officer at an anti-BNP march (in Blackpool) - but can anybody explain this very Nazi-like insignia (see inset) on his uniform? See link

Whenever you see a lightning bolt on their uniforms or their cruiser it means they have something to do with traffic enforcement

Its a lightning bolt. The Nazi "SS" or Shutzstaffle symbol was two lightning bolts which had fewer zig-zags then the one in your picture. The "SS" were Hitler's secret police. In fact, it literally means just that. Lot's of police use that symbol, both before and after Nazis came along. I bet he has underwear on too...and oh my god...the Nazis wore underwear! We all must be Nazis!

Since when is a lightning bolt strictly relagated to the Nazi's? many, many, many organizations use lightning bolts in their insignia. Check out the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING HOCKEY TEAM.
