I've had a hair disaster!what can l do????

It sounds like your hair is a little over porous. It really soaked up the color. If your looking for a quick fix, I would suggest a subtle highlight. You will have to use a bleach to do this, so you might want to call and check some prices at salons in your area first. It's better to spend a little more than damage your hair. If the color is something you can live with for a day or two, then purchase some suave shampoo and conditioner (just normal type, hydrating, etc), it's a cheap fix, but it will not work overnight. The PH balance in this shampoo is a little higher, which will help strip the color off your hair faster. I wouldn't recommend using baking soda much, that will strip the oils out of your hair leaving it very, very dry. If you decide to do a highlight, I would do a light frost, pulling thru every other hole, and let it process until your hair is a very pale yellow, or a light beige. Usually about 20 to 45 minutes. I dyed my hair black probably six months ago....I tried lots of things to change it LOL I bleached twice in two days cause i couldnt get all the black out....and it still hasnt come out...the result was that my hair was almost white at some of the roots orange other parts and black on other parts....I dyed it a very dark brown..and as you can see in my pic it doesnt look bad BUTTT my hair is now FRIED! it breaks all the time and it has thinned out some! Its growing back but we all know how long that takes LOL Soooooo I would have it done professionally LOL never again will I go black!! Even though the color looked great on me! lol

I had a similar problem. I dyed my hair black. To get it out I had to go to the salon and she had to strip my hair of the color. She used a less harsh chemical, she did not use bleach. It took her five hours but it worked. I would not try to do it at home because that can create serious problems with your hair. I would go to the salon. Fantastic Sam's did mine. They did a really good job. Don't expect it to fade out because black hair dye does not fade out like other lighter colors. Black dye, ESPECIALLY home hair dye has A LOT of pigment. Black hair dye has to grow out. Your roots will have to come back in. If it isn't permanent it will not take as long. Since it isn't normally a black dye, it should take a little less time but it still did turn out black....go to a salon. It is worth it! Good Luck!

You can buy a color remover at the drugstore, but you'll more than likely have to re-color it once you use that product. I'd wait a week or two before you try anything else, so that you don't dry out your hair too much. If you can't wait that long, do what I suggested, but make sure to use a deep conditioner afterward and try to not use anything like blowdryers or curling irons for a while.

I use a great highlighting kit Sallies it comes in caramels and blondes and light browns you can get it online im sure but i don't know where at i use it all the time and it is so easy and fast not to mention cheap only $8 a kit that includes everything hope this helps!!! :)

ok basically the problem is with home colours you should always choose a shade lighter than you really want even with professional colours a medium brown will be more like dark brown to us. now that you have the dark colour the only thing i recommend that you do yourself is shampoo it daily with head and shoulders to strip it slightly but anything else really should be tackled by a professional or you could end up with an even bigger problem.

Washing up liquid, the harshness of the detergent may help to lighten it, but i can't guarantee it will.

I would suggest a trip to the salon.

Unfortunately this is the problem with home hair colouring, it's not as easy as it looks!

Use anti-dandruff shampoo, I always keep some in the house for hair dye emergencies. It'll strip out most of the colour.

The reason that it did that is either because you left it on your hair too long(if you've had color before, it tends to take quicker) or that you have hair like me... meaning that your hair grabs the color... If you have like curly hair or dry hair, It will do that. Just go call a professional (one that knows what they're doing) and ask them. If you can't find one that knows what they're talking about, then message me tomorrow, and I'll call and ask my mom.

some of the brown 's turn out black, e-mail the manufacturer's and see what they say , or send them a sample of your hair and the box from the colour and they should be able to sort out your problem
