When I put a SD memory card into my digital camera, does it automatically save the pics I take to the card?

Most cameras will not erase the pictures on a used memory card inserted into a new camera, but a few need to use their own format and will either reformat the existing card and therefor erase the pictures already on the card. If you are trying to access the old pictures on the new camera that may not work as the camera is designed not to recognize the titles of pictures unless generated by that camera. The best way is to download pictures to a computer as soon as possible as a computer is more reliable storage than a camera. This would be the way to answer your own question. I hope this has been useful to you.

Yes, with most digital cameras they are set to automatically save all the photos & even video clips that you have taken to the SD memory card. If you do not have a the SD card in the digital camera, it will recognize that it will need to save the photo & video files to it's internal memory (if it has any). Hope this answered helped.

Ok.. I'm going against the grain here and say NO.. The reason is that if the camera has internal memory also, the default setting might save to the camera's memory instead. You will need to check the camera to be sure, but if the camera does not have its own memory then yes it will automatically save to the card..

Yes it will, and then you can remove the media and download the pictures to your computer or just simply go to wal-mart or walgreens, ect. and have them printed right from the card. I would not recommend deleting the pictures from your card using your computer. Only delete them using your camera. If you do it using your computer then it interferes a bit with the card and your camera. Some cameras do have a small internal memory that will hold a very small amount of pictures, but as long as the pics where taken with the memory card in the camera they will automatically be put on the card.

yes, it has an option on most camera's to save to card or camera, but it should just automatically save it to the card
