What's the least expensive GOOD cat food?

Hi there...premium quality foods have multiple benefits over inexpensive products aside from corn fillers...a cats appetite is more satiated with these and can eat less which last longer in the long run as well.

Whiskas, IAMs, Science Diet, Royal Canin (not their entire product line) Purina, Friskies (most commercial grade cat food) all contain byproducts and corn, corn meal as their primary ingredients. Corn products are actually fillers that are used to bind the dry food together as well as help preserve the shelf life of the food.

A vegetarian diet for dogs or cats is a horrible idea and you shouldn't force that on them. They need meat to survive and be healthy. They can have so many health issues and deformities from not eating meat. They will slowly deteriorate. If you want a vegetarian pet, get a rabbit or something. Dogs and cats are carnivores. Wet food is better than dry. You can google high quality brands of cat food like Blue Buffalo, Innova EVO, Wellness, Felidae, etc. Raw fed is even better. If you're looking to save money and get something from the grocery store, there aren't any great brands there, but IAMS and Fancy Feast may be the best out of all of them.

You get what you pay for.

My cats get Feline C/D from the vets office. With the food that I give them they don't eat as much as there aren't fillers. They poop less because they utilize more of the food. Their poop does not smell as bad as other cats (and I know it's the food because once I ran out and IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference),

Also they do not throw up (some of them used to have a hairball problem) and they don't get urinary tract infections.

So if you count up all the benefits to feeding the expensive food I'll bet I come out ahead on what I save on kitty litter, hairball medicine and trips to the vet!

This is just what I learned from my experience of owning cats for over 25 years and feeding different foods.

The best and lowest priced cat food is one you can cook or feed raw. But must be balanced.

One readily available diet is Wellness or California Natural.

DO NOT GET yearly distemper vac's!!!! Or let vet give your cat regular steroid injections.

For the dry food variety, Purina One is a good brand. There are several formulas in the Purina One line as well. They have one for Seniors, one for Hairball Control, one for Sensitive Systems, and more, I think. Also, my cats like Purina Naturals. I switch off regularly to give them a variety.

They tolerate Purina well with no stomach upsets or side effects.

Please whatever you do look for quality, you can get some really great foods for an inexpensive price, but still have good quality. I really like Hill's adult maintenance, that's what we recommend to our clients. It also has many different varies hairball, senior, light, sensitive stomach, plus many prescription ones as well.

I feed mine purina and the vet thinks that a good choice for lower priced food

ive noticed that purina and iams are good brands at a fairly low price. however, no matter what you do, don;'t get frisky's chef blend because it killed my cat simba.

Go to Walmart, cheapest store around here, and look at the bags. I am glad U asked, cuz I checked my Purina and WOW alot of corn products!
